Long-term Dhamma service is a great opportunity to strengthen your practice of Vipassana by meditating and serving at the centre for longer periods of time – a few weeks, a season or even a year. Long-term service can involve serving on courses, but can also include working outside on site, helping with the upkeep and maintenance of the buildings and assisting in the office.
Long-term Dhamma workers will be accommodated at Dhamma Muttā, attend three meditation sessions each day, meet with assistant teachers regularly and sit 10-day courses at least once every three months. There are also opportunities to read materials and to watch videos related to Vipassana. Long-term Dhamma workers are also expected to take regular days off.
Long term Dhamma service is only open to those students who exclusively practice Vipassana and maintain the five precepts. This opportunity is directed towards those who are humble, determined to serve, and willing to co-operate as a team. It is also for people who are enthusiastic to learn the best way of serving in the Dhammic atmosphere.
