The Phase III development of Dhamma Muttā includes the construction of a Dhamma Hall, teacher residences, and a meditation pagoda with approximately 50 individual meditation cells. Grateful for the generous donations received by the Hong Kong Vipassana Meditation Center, a meticulous design process began in early 2019.
In April 2024, the Building Authority approved all the Phase III construction drawings; with sufficient funds raised, we are now ready to commence the construction of the Phase III buildings at any time. The estimated completion time for the project is around 24 months.
Old students will have the opportunity to stay in single rooms, providing increased privacy and personal space. New students will be accommodated in shared rooms for three to four individuals instead of staying in existing big dorms of 8-10 people. To accommodate these changes, the room partitions of the first and second phases dorms will be modified and redesigned. Therefore, the Dhamma Muttā will be able to accommodate approximately 120 students and 30 Dhamma servers together for 10-day meditation courses, as well as offer longer 20-day and 30-day courses for old students to deepen their Vipassana practice.
Estimated cost: HK$50 million for the Phase III Development.
