From Tung Chung, take the Lantau Bus No. 11, 11A or No. 23

From Tung Chung MTR exit B, walk towards Tung Chung Town Centre Bus Terminus and get on Lantau Bus No. 11 (to Tai O) or 11A (to Shek Pik), or cross Tat Tung Road to get on No. 23 (to Ngong Ping) at Tung Chung Temporary Bus Terminus. During the weekend and on public holidays, 11A (to Shek Pik) would be the recommended bus route to take as there are usually less passengers. No matter which bus you are on, please alight at Shek Pik Police Station bus stop.

Please alight at the Shek Pik Police Station bus stop. Alternatively, you can ask the bus driver to remind you when to alight the bus.

After getting off at the Shek Pik Police Station bus stop, walk along the Shek Pik Reservoir Road for about 350 meters, then keep left for Lantau Trail No.9 and walk for another 300 meters. When you reach a refuse collection station, turn left onto a concrete road. On the way, you will pass through Tung Wan School. Keep walking straight forward for about 300 meters, and you will reach the centre.

The walking time is about 15 minutes. Be mindful that the path involves walking up and down slopes.

Walk along Shek Pik Reservoir Road for about 350 meters, then keep the left side to Lantau Trail No.9

Walk for another 300 meters, then turn left to concrete road. On the way will pass through Tung Wan School and keep walking straight forward about 300 meters & you will reach the centre.

From Tung Chung, take the Lantau Blue Taxi

  • You must take the Lantau blue taxi in order to get into the restricted area of Lantau. The taxi station is located outside Tung Chung MTR Exit D.
  • In case there is no taxi available at the Tung Chung taxi stand, please call the taxi station to arrange a taxi. Phone: 2984 1328 
  • Let the driver know that the destination is ‘Tung Wan Vipassana Centre’.
  • When you arrive at Shek Pik Resevoir Road, the taxi will drive along the same path as the walking path written in route one. When you reach the refuse collection station, please inform the driver to turn left onto the concrete road. Keep going straight until you reach the site.
  • Taxi Fee: A single trip is around $200-250, so if divided equally by 4 persons, it will be approximately $50-63 per head

From Central, take the ferry to Mui Wo; then take Lantau Bus No 1

  • Please take "First Ferry" at Central Pier 6 to Mui Wo, Around 35 minutes for fast ferry - Online schedule
  • After getting off from the ferry, take Lantau Bus No. 1. The bus terminal is just outside the ferry pier. 
  • Alight at Shek Pik Police Station bus stop. Walk along Shek Pik Reservoir Road according to instructions from Route 1. If you are not familiar with the exact bus stop, please ask the driver to remind you when to alight.
