About Anapana

Anapana means observation of natural, normal respiration. It is an invaluable technique from ancient India, which can help us to live a balanced and peaceful life.  Regular practice of Anapana can bring many benefits, including:

  • helping to relax and calm the mind
  • improving concentration and memory
  • helping to understand oneself
  • increasing self-awareness and alertness of mind
  • helping to deal with fears, anxieties and pressures
  • developing greater capacity to work and study
  • developing love and goodwill for others

Online Mini Anapana for All

If you would like to learn and experience the benefits of Anapana meditation, you can join these one-hour mini Anapana session that are held regularly on the first Saturday of every month:

You are welcome to practise Anapana with your friends and families. However, if you are meditating with others, please make sure that:

  1. No one should give any instructions or guidance, whether live or recorded; the only instructions given should be that of Mr. Goenka's Mini Anapana recording.  If anyone has any questions regarding the technique, please feel free to write to us.  Your questions will be answered by a teacher.
  2. There should be no charge whatsoever for attending a Mini Anapana session.  The teaching is free of charge.

Please also note that participants who attend Mini Anapana sessions will not be considered as an "Old Student", so they cannot apply for any Vipassana courses designated as "For Old Students only".
